- Backup Your Data: Store a secure backup of your important files on an encrypted drive or cloud storage.
- Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Secure your accounts with MFA wherever possible.
- Limit Devices & Data: Bring only essential devices and remove sensitive data you don’t need.
- Secure Your Passwords: Use a password manager and avoid reusing passwords.
- Check Local Laws & Restrictions: Some countries have strict cybersecurity laws, including VPN restrictions.
During Your Trip
- Avoid Public Wi-Fi: Use a VPN when accessing the internet, especially on public networks.
- If using Hotel Wi-Fi, confirm the Wi-Fi network name to avoid connecting to any impersonator networks.
- Use a Mobile Hotspot: If possible, rely on your mobile data rather than unsecured networks.
- Turn Off Bluetooth & Wi-Fi Auto-Connect: Prevent automatic connections to unknown networks.
- Beware of Public Charging Stations: Use a USB data blocker or charge directly from a power outlet.
- Monitor Device Access: Lock your devices when not in use and never leave them unattended.
- Watch for Phishing & Scams: Be cautious of unexpected emails, messages, or calls requesting sensitive information.
After You Return
- Change Passwords: Update your credentials in case of compromise.
- Contact Nuvodia to place a ticket to scan your devices: Run a full security scan to detect any malware or unauthorized access.
- Monitor Your Accounts: Keep an eye on financial and online accounts for any suspicious activity.
